How StonkFun works

A StonkFun launch has four moving parts: the quote token the coin is priced against, a fixed supply of 1 billion tokens, a one sided Raydium pool that opens at a 5,000 US dollar starting market cap with permanently locked liquidity, and a pool fee that pays either the creator or the holders depending on the mode chosen at launch.

The launch, in order

  • Pick the pool fee. 1% is the default and splits 50/50 with the platform. 2% is optional and leaves the creator 1.5% per trade.
  • Name the token, up to 32 characters, and give it a symbol of up to 10 characters.
  • Upload square artwork as PNG, JPEG or WebP, up to 2 MB. Image and metadata are stored permanently on Arweave.
  • Add optional project links for website, X and Telegram. They are saved in the token's permanent metadata.
  • Choose the quote token. This is the asset the new coin will be priced against.
  • Sign the launch fee from your own wallet. Supply is fixed at 1 billion and the starting market cap is 5,000 US dollars.
  • Liquidity is permanently locked with Burn and Earn, and the pool becomes tradeable.

The same launch over the public API

StonkFun documents launching as two HTTP calls. POST /launches/prepare returns an unsigned payment transaction, the creator signs it locally, and POST /launches/submit completes the launch. There is no API key: the creator's signature on the fee payment is the authorisation.

Optional fields on prepare cover the dev buy and the airdrop to the quote token's holders. The response reports the exact lamports and, for an airdrop, the recipient count, before anything is signed.

After the pool opens

Trades pay the pool fee. On a fee coin the creator's share accumulates and is claimed from the token page or over the API. On a reward coin the transfer tax pays holders directly in the quote token. A share of v3 pool fees also flows to the platform flywheel, which buys back and burns the top 15 tokens by market cap.

Yes. The StonkFun launch page states that liquidity is permanently locked with Burn and Earn.
