Frequently asked questions
What is StonkFun?
StonkFun is a Solana launchpad at stonkfun.xyz where each new coin is priced against a quote token chosen at launch, such as a tokenized stock, a currency, a leveraged token, SOL, or any custom mint with liquidity. A launch creates a fixed supply token with a one sided Raydium market.
How does StonkFun work?
A creator picks a name, artwork and a quote token. The launch mints 1 billion tokens, opens a Raydium pool quoted against that asset, and permanently locks liquidity with Burn and Earn. Trades pay a pool fee that either pays the creator or, on reward launches, pays holders through a transfer tax.
What can a StonkFun coin be paired with?
StonkFun's launch form groups quote tokens into xStocks, PreStocks, Tessera, Sunrise, Currencies, Leverage, Collectibles, Solana and Custom. The live list is served by the public endpoint GET /pairs.
How do StonkFun rewards work?
Reward tokens pay holders pro rata in the quote token the launch is paired against. Newer v3 launches pay from a transfer tax of 1% or 3% set permanently at launch. Earlier launches pay from 85% of their 4% pool's trading fees. Fees collect until the pot is worth distributing.
What is the StonkFun flywheel?
A share of trading fees from every v3 pool flows to the flywheel, which buys back and burns the platform's top 15 tokens by market cap, weighted by market cap, every few minutes.
What is $STONK?
$STONK is StonkFun's own token. StonkFun's revenue page states that approximately 60% of platform revenue is used to buy $STONK on the open market and burn it, with the remainder retained.
Does StonkFun have a public API?
Yes. StonkFun publishes a public HTTP API at https://www.stonkfun.xyz/api/public/v1 with no API key and no signup, behind a per IP rate limit. Launching through the API is authorised by the creator's own wallet signature on the fee payment.
Is StonkGuy the same as StonkFun?
No. StonkFun is the launchpad. StonkGuy is an independent, unofficial project that builds a terminal, bots and documentation on top of public StonkFun and Solana data. StonkGuy is not operated or endorsed by StonkFun.
Do all StonkFun tokens pay rewards?
No. Only reward tokens do. A fee coin pays its creator from the pool fee instead, and has no transfer tax.
How often are StonkFun rewards distributed?
StonkFun states that reward tokens collect fees until the pot is worth paying out, then split it across holders, so the cadence follows the fees a token actually produces.
Is StonkGuy Hold to Earn the same as StonkFun rewards?
No. Hold to Earn is run independently by StonkGuy using the creator fee earned by its own token, which arrives in $STONK because $STONKGUY is paired with $STONK.
Is the StonkGuy Terminal free to use?
Yes. There is no account, no signup and no paywall, and market data is readable without connecting a wallet.
